What’s a Mood-Mover
A Soul Buffet Mood-Mover is a way of replacing the dumb, negative, worried thoughts in your head with something more purposeful. More positive. More productive.
Many people have no idea how to change what they’re thinking about. Heck, lots of people even aware of all the negative thoughts they think. Thinking those thoughts directly affects the quality of your life!
Some affirmations are designed just to keep you from feeling bad. Some try to create a world of affluence without using you and your spirit and power as a tool. That’s what makes Mood-Movers different.
How to Use a Mood-Mover

It’s easy to use a Mood-Mover. The hard part is in remembering to use it regularly throughout the day!
1. The basic, easy way is to first realize that you’re having thoughts you don’t want to have. Start by telling those thoughts to just get out of your brain, that you are in charge here. Picture them leaving. Then, pick a Mood-Mover and start repeating it to yourself.
Don’t just say it a couple of times and then get sidetracked. Make a commitment to yourself to repeat it over and over. You can even put it on a sticky note or on your computer desktop so you remember to use it throughout the day.
2. and 3. A variation on the above that adds to the power of a Mood-Mover is to say it out loud over and over to yourself. Say it like you mean it! Or, you could even find yourself making a little melody for it, and singing it over and over to yourself. The perfect time to do this is when you’re alone in the car. You can turn off the radio and put down the phone and focus on something positive for YOU!
4. Yet another way to use a Mood-Mover is something that I learned from my minister. This involves writing stuff down.
Start by writing down the Mood-Mover on a piece of paper, or typing it on your computer. Then, listen inside for the first negative thought that contradicts it. Write down that negative thought below the Mood-Mover.
Right below your negative thought, write down the same Mood-Mover again. Listen inside for the next negative thought. Again, write it down, and below it … re-re-write the Mood-Mover.
This is the most thorough way to use a Mood-Mover, and helps you listen for … and notice … the negative, un-helpful, worrying thoughts you get. Most people won’t go to the trouble of writing this stuff down. However, writing it down makes the process work faster and more thoroughly. Will YOU be one of the ones who takes these Mood-Movers to the next level?
Today’s Daily Soul Buffet Mood-Mover:
My worries are not my destiny; I change my thoughts to start changing my future.
Even though economists say the recession ended over a year ago … what do they know, huh??!?
Many people are struggling with hard times in a number of different ways. Some others I know have decided they’re not going to be a part of it, and are working to use the law of attraction to create a different future for themselves.
In my humble opinion, I think they’re both missing a piece. It seems important to acknowledge that many of us are, indeed, going through some tough times … economically, or otherwise. You can use whatever means necessary to attract a great new future, and I admire people who work to change their lives … but I think you have to start by honestly acknowledging the truth about humanity’s current situation.
That’s why today’s Soul Buffet Mood-Mover strives to bridge the gap from respecting the truth that many of us are feeling, to working to change that in the most effective way possible: by first changing ourselves by changing our thoughts.
When you find yourself obsessing about how horrible things could be, stop yourself. Thank your brain for keeping you safe, and ask it to just put down the negativity for now. Then, think today’s Mood-Mover repeatedly before moving on to thoughts that FEEL GOOD!
